"Benner Buys Pharmacy - The purchase of the Moyer Pharmacy, (40) East Main Street, by Clyde O. Benner, of Coatesville, was announced this week by Mrs. L. N. Moyer, widow of Dr. L. N. Moyer who founded the drug store here approximately 30 years ago.
Mr. Benner, who has been a registered pharmacist since 1925, will take possesion of the pharmacy Monday morning, according to the announcement. Mr. Benner will continue to operate under the name of the Moyer Pharmacy.
The new owner is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in the Class of 1925. He has been associated with the Young Drug Store, of Coatesville, as a prescription clerk since his graduation, although he was employed by that store for the past 23 years. Mr. Benner is married and has one child. His family will move to Lititz on June 1st when they will occupy the home adjoining the store, now occupied by Mrs. Moyer. Terms of the purchase were not made public."

" Clyde O. Benner, a longtime Lititz pharmacist, died Thursday evening, June 23, a t Lancaster General Hospital at the age of 80.
A resident of 637 S. Spruce St., Lititz, he had been ill for sometime.
He was the husband of Hazel Snyder Benner.
Benner owned and operated Benner’s Pharmacy, Lititz, until his retirement in 1972. A 1925 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, he had graduated from Coatesville High School in 1922.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lititz, where he was a former member of the church council.
A life member of the Lancaster County Pharmacy Association, he was also a member of the Lititz Lions Club, achieving 37 years of perfect attendance. He also belonged to the Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge 587, Manheim; Lancaster County Lodge of Perfection ; Lancaster County Shrine Club; Zembo Temple, Harrisburg; Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 1050, Lititz; Lititz Fire Co.; Lancaster Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge 134; and the Young Men’s Business League, Lititz. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late John E. and Sallie E. Ott Benner. He had lived in Lititz since 1941.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Gloria E. wife of P. Robert Peiffer, Springtown; one grandson; and one brother, Norman E., Blue Bell.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 8, at 11 a.m. from St. Paul Lutheran Church, 200 W. Orange St. with Rev. James G. Shannon, DD and Rev. Gene R. Stuckey Sr. officiating. Private interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 200 W. Orange St., Lititz 17543. The Spacht Funeral Home, 127 S. Broad and Center St. is in charge of arrangements."
