Shirley Ann Benham, 73, of Waterloo, died Sunday, August 11 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City from complications of an intraventricular hemorrhage.
She was born April 10, 1940 in Oelwein, daughter of Harold and Phyllis Hull Bright. She married David Patrick Benham July 25, 1961 in Moline, Ill.
Survivors include her husband, Dave; a son, Troy (Katie) Benham of Marion; two daughters, Janece Shaffer of Waterloo and Christine (Steve) Benham of Dysart; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dale (Rita) Bright of Waterloo, Donald (Linda) Bright of West Union and Richard (Viola Zerfus) Bright of Oelwein and a sister, Lavonne (Howard) Rolfs of Oelwein.
Preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Tracy Benham and a brother, Robert Bright.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and for an hour before services at the church on Saturday.
