Benjamin BENDER, the former owner of Boston Baby Carriage Company, died of cancer Thursday in the Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Florida. He was 78.
Mr. BENDER retired from the business in 1971 and moved to Boca Raton, where he became active in temple, civic and charitable affairs.
He graduated from Northeastern University Law School and served in The Army Signal Corps during World War II. Upon returning, he took over the business his father had founded in the 1920s.
Mr. BENDER leaves his wife, Ruth (Minsk); two sons, Jerry of Wrentham and Stephen of Boxford; a sister, Florence TOABE of Andover; a brother, Max, of Miami; and four granddaughters.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:45 p.m. tomorrow in Sharon Memorial Park.
