It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, mother and friend, Malissa Lynn Martin Bench, known by family and friends as Lissa.
Lissa was born on January 6, 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away at home unexpectedly on February 20, 2016.

Lissa had the most generous heart and would give anyone anything she had, just to make them smile. She had an incredible sense of humor, and could have anyone in stitches seconds after meeting them.

Lissa attended West High School and graduated in 1990. She worked for Becton Dickinson for 13 years, where she made many close friends.

Lissa gave birth to a son, Christopher on June 10, 1996, who was the light of her life. She dedicated most of her time to him, and loved him more than anything in this world. She was very close to her sisters and her mother, and spent as much time with all of them as possible.

She enjoyed collecting purses, key chains and pens. It was easy to make her day by bringing her a keychain or a pen. Lissa was also incredibly generous, always buying gifts for family and friends, and going the extra mile for those in need.

Lissa will be incredibly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving mother, Beverly Martin, sisters Stacy (Brian) Gygi, and Brandi (Alison) Martin, son, Christopher Bench and nephew, Logan Gygi. She also survived by many family members, aunts, uncles, cousins as well as multiple friends. She is proceeded in death by her father, Ron Martin, Grandparents Helen and Charles Bright, Grandparents Dorothy and James Martin, aunts Dorthy Stahl, Sharon Seely, Colleen Eversole, as well as many cousins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 26, 2016 at the LDS Chruch located at 7150 South Callie Drive, West Jordan, Utah where a viewing will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah .

Flowers may be sent to the church. Financial contributions are greatly appreciated to help with expenses.
