Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Fernando Benavídez, a son, Irwin Levi "Rocky" Benavídez, her mother, Jesusista Aragón, an uncle Antonio Aragón, an aunt, Josie Miranda and a sister-in-law, Emma Aragón-Roybal.
Lola is survived by a daughter, Martha Lee Benavídez of Las Vegas, NM, a son, Michael Benavídez and his wife, Angela of Las Vegas and step-children, Danielle, Derek and Brittany, grandchildren, Leah and Therese, two brothers, Juan Ernesto Aragón of Las Vegas, NM and Ben Aragón and their son, Randy of Lakewood, CO and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Dolores retired from the New Mexico State Hospital after 22 years serving as a supervisor in the children's unit. Lola enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. The interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers, Chris Herrera Jr., Derek Benavídez, Jimmy Hara, Mark Baca, George Yara and Gene Gallegos. Honorary bearers will be Randy Aragón, Steve Aragón, Jake Yara and Joe Romero. The eulogy will be delivered by Loretta Esquíbel.
