Born May 9, 1940, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Norris and Wilda Ruth Ours Belt.
Miss Belt was employed as a freelance comedy writer. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Cumberland, and attended Shepherd College an Frostburg State University.
Surviving are one brother, John G Belt, Red Lion, Pa.; and two nephews and three nieces.
Funeral services were conducted Friday morning at the Metropolitan Community Church, New York.
A graveside service was conducted Saturday in the Brake Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Dorcad, with the Rev. Greg Rotruck officiating.
