Alvin Bellmont was born Feb. 18, 1914, in Sauk Rapids to Charles and Catherine (Popp) Bellmont. He married Marcella Theisen July 3, 1941, in Riverside, Calif., and lived in the Sauk Rapids area all his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked in retail furniture sales at Sauk Rapids Hardware for 41 years and then for Hennen Furniture of St. Cloud until January of 1987. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254 and Sauk Rapids VFW Post 6992.
Survivors include sons, Robert and Donald, St. Cloud; sisters, Helen Loso, St. Joseph; Mrs. Ed (Rose) Gebeke, Melrose; Eleanor Metts, Louisville, Ky.; Mrs. Severin (Marie) Meemken, Waite Park; Mrs. A.J. (Laura) Saatzer, Burnsville; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife in 1967; brother, Roy; and an infant son and daughter.
