Clayton Benjamin and Doris Bellew lived at 3612 Ada Street in Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas. On September 6, 1955, at age 49, Clayton suffered a massive coronary occlusion, and lived for about one hour afterwards. He died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Fort Worth. Clayton's usual occupation was pipe welder, but he was unemployed at the time of his death. He left behind wife Doris Bellew and four young children. Clayton was buried at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Survivors: son, Don, and daughters Nancy, Mary Etta, and Carol Bellew.
