BELL, LUCRETIA ARNITA(nee BROOKS-BUNCH) - was born the oldest of ten children to George and Estelle Brooks in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2011.
Lucretia attended the Atlantic City public school system and was a graduate of Associated Business Careers where she specialized in computer/data processing. She also worked as a dispatcher for Mutual Taxi for many years, and for a brief time she worked as a PBX operator at Trump Marina in Atlantic City. Lucretia earned the title of Sister Bell serving on the usher boards of three churches Greater Holy Trinity Baptist Atlantic City, Green Grove Baptist Berlin and New Mount Calvary Baptist Mays Landing She became first Lady of St. James Baptist Church in Norma when her husband, the light of her life, Reverend David C. Bell was called to serve as pastor.
Preceding her in the afterlife: her father, George Brooks, Sr.; a son, Darryl Brooks Sr.; two sisters, Angelina Brooks and Estelle Francine; and two brothers, George Brooks Jr. and Rodney Brooks.
She is survived by cherished loved ones; her mother, Estelle Mott Brooks; Dominica Smith(William) of Hammonton, Quienzell Bunch of Keyport, N.J., DeJuan Bunch, Lefon Bunch( Vivian), and Sonji Francisco (Michael) all of Atlantic City from her union with ex-husband Robert Bunch; three sisters, Charlene Brooks of Pleasantville ,Sheryl Brooks and Tenetta Brooks of Atlantic City; and two brothers Dwaine Brooks (Linda) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jule Brooks of Elizabeth; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family.
Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11AM at New Hope Baptist Church 706 Lexington Ave. Atlantic City. Interment Monday at 11AM in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends may attend a viewing at the church Saturday morning from 9am-11am.
Services entrusted to Edwards and Son Funeral Home, Inc. Bridgeton and Salem, NJ.
