Bell, Barbara Wilkerson
Barbara Ann Bell, long-time Duncanville resident, was born November 27, 1937, in Burkburnett, Texas, the daughter of Ethel Bell (Green) and Charlie Luther Rogers.
She passed away February 5, 2012, in Fort Worth, Texas, at age 74.
Barbara was raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, and was a graduate of Midwestern University.
Barbara used her musical talents playing and singing with the Silver Serenaders and the Goldenaires, as well as playing for her church and in local nursing homes.
She was very actively involved in her community and church and was a passionate supporter of the Republican Party.
She served as a precinct chairman/election judge for 10 years and worked in many local campaigns.
She adored her grandchildren and cherished her many friends in the Duncanville community.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Herman O. Wilkerson (1992), her 3 year old daughter, Sharon Kay (1971), and her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 11 years, L.A. Bell; daughters, Terrie McDonald and husband Bill of The Woodlands, Texas, and Sherrie Williams and husband Jeff of Colleyville, Texas; and grandchildren, Jessica Arriaga and husband Michael, Christopher McDonald, and Kala McDonald.
Funeral services are 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Duncanville's First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Brister and Rev. Bill White officiating.
Burial will follow in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas.
Visitation with the family is 6-8 pm, Monday, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel 811 South Cockrell Hill Road Duncanville Texas 75137 972-298-2334.
