Died at The Home of His Sister, Miss Ella Scott, on Lincoln Avenue - Harry W. Bell died at 3 o'clock Friday morning, at the home of his sister, Miss Ella Scott, with whom himself and wife have made their home the past two years. He had not been well for a year, but was seriously ill only about two weeks. He suffered from congestion of the lungs, the result of a severe cold contracted recently. He was aged 48 years, 10 months and 8 days. Harry Waters Bell was the son of Captain James Bell and Elizabeth Bell. His father, who was a leaning citizen of Tyrone in the town's early days, died, December 31, 1874. His mother died in the year 1880. The deceased was born in Warriors Mark Township, Huntingdon, County, Pa., near what is now known as Stover's Station, about three miles from Tyrone. When he was two years old, the family became residents of this place, where Harry grew to young manhood. After that, he resided in Philadelphia for about 22 years, and later lived in Chicago the two years just prior to coming here to reside the second time. On May 20, 1893, Harry W. Bell and Miss Mary B. Buch were united in marriage at Philadelphia. Mrs. Bell survives her husband, as do two brothers and one half sister, viz: James Bell, of Williamsport; Thomas Bell, of Altoona, and Miss Ella Scott, of Tyrone. Harry Bell will be best remembered by those who were his school mates in Tyrone, more than thirty years ago, as a quick, apt and promising school boy. In Philadelphia, he was connected with a wholesale drug house, for which he traveled much and handled a large trade. He continued in the same business after removing from Philadelphia to Chicago. (Tyrone Herald, Tyrone, Pa., February 2, 1905)
