Pearl, 84, of Rockford, died at 8:58 p.m., at The Laurels of Shane Hill, where she had been a patient since Aug. 29.

She was born to Seth and Margaret (Bauman) Beldon. On March 24, 1940, she married Joseph E. Schmidt, who is deceased.

Survivors are four sons, Larry (Diane), Bryan, Ind., Edwin (Judith), Canada, Dan (Deb), Willshire, and Junior (Angie), Decatur, Ind.; four daughters, Martha Horton, Celina, Ruth Kinney, Rockford, Marceil, Celina, and Jane (Richard) Dailey, Geneva, Ind.; a brother, Rex (Louis) Beldon, Wauseon, Ind.; 36 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased are two sons, Richard and Patrick; a daughter, Carolyn Robertson; two brothers, Paul and Reid Beldon; and four sisters, Velma Weitz, Viola Woods, Edith Druhot and Dorothy Halsted.

She was a homemaker and auxiliary member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1292, Rockford, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, Celina.

Services were at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, the Rev. Alan Crull officiating.
