Rev Dale Russell Beittel was the youngest of three children of Charles Rouss Beittel, Sr. and Edna Frances Balsbaugh. He met and married Barbara Ruth Kolb June 22, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA. Together they had 4 children:
Kent Robert, Timothy Brooks, Elizabeth Ann, and Todd Russell Beittel.

BEITTEL Rev. Dale Russell Beittel has gone on ahead to his heavenly home, leaving on Thursday morning, May 24, 2012. He was 88 years old having been born March 5, 1924 in central Pennsylvania. Raised in Harrisburg, PA, he graduated from William Penn High School as both president and valedictorian of his class. He attended Carnegie Mellon University, graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a B. Arts degree, then spent three years at Yale University Divinity School graduating with both the STB and M. Th. degrees. He was accredited as chaplain by the American Protestant Hospital Association following clinical training at Boston City Hospital. In l965 he was one of five ministers across the nation to be granted a Merrill Fellowship at Harvard University for individual study. Rev. Beittel was ordained into the United Methodist church in 1950 in Chicago when he was serving the Oak Park U.M. Church. Thereafter he served First U.M. Church, Perrysburg-Toledo; Riverside U.M. Church, Columbus; Armstrong U.M. Church, Cincinnati; Central U.M. Church, Springfield; King Ave U.M. Church, Columbus; Grace U.M. Church, Zanesville; and from 1973 to 1982 Christ U.M. Church, Marietta. The Beittels have traveled extensively, he being privileged to serve as exchange minister once in Southend-On-Sea England and once in Dublin, Ireland. Following his retirement in 1990 Dale and Barbara returned to Marietta where he was pleased to serve as interim pastor for six years at Belpre Congregational Church and two years each at First Christian Church, New Martinsville, W.V. and Boyd Memorial Christian Church, Charleston. Surviving him are Barbara, his wife of 66 years; his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Beittel, Marietta; his sons, Kent and wife, Mary, Brooks and wife, Georgina, Todd and wife, Leesa; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Interment service at Mound Cemetery will be private for the family. Public Memorial and Worship service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 at Christ United Methodist Church, Third and Wooster Sts., Marietta with Pastor Don Archer officiating.
