Richard was born in Houston, Texas on October 13, 1961 to parents, Arnold and Dorris Grabos Beissert, and died on September 10, 2015 in Richmond, Texas.

Survivors include his mother, Dorris Beissert of East Bernard; sister, Shirley Powers and husband, Chester, of East Bernard; brother, David Beissert and wife, Dee, of Wharton; nieces and nephews, Tracy Beissert of Wileska, Georgia, David Beissert and wife, Jennifer, of Joshua, Texas, Tammy Herrera and husband, Michael, of Wharton, Texas, Brian Powers and wife, Phyllis, of Hungerford, Texas, Kimberly Powers of East Bernard, and Christy Gonzales and husband, Keith, of Wallis; and other great nieces-and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Beissert.
