Is Taken By Death
Mrs. Hattie Custer Beery, 84,
former well known Decatur
resident and widow of Wilson
F. Beery, died at 1:55 o’clock
Sunday afternoon at the South
View rest home at Bluffton, where
she had resided since Sept. 11, 1955.
She was born in Mercer O.,
Oct. 24, 1876, and was married to
Wilson F. Beery June 2, 1895.
They moved to Decatur in 1921
and Mr. Beery was a rural mail
carrier until his retirement. He
preceded his wife in death April
Mrs. Beery was a member of
the First Methodist church.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law,
Mrs. Ruth Beery of Frankfort; a
granddaughter, Miss Barbara
Beery, Indianapolis, and a grand-
son, Billy Buck of Pasadena,
Calif. Four children, two brothers
and three sisters are deceased.
Funeral services will be con-
ducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at
the Zwick funeral home, the Rev.
F. Hazen Sparks officiating. Burial
will be in the Decatur cemetery.
Friends may call at the
funeral home after 7 p.m. today
until time of the services.
