Regarding Mary's surname: her obituary names her KRISSINGER, but her husband's obituary names her GRISINGER. The GREISINGER name is familiar in Beaver Dam, so it might just be that it is hers, as well.

OBITUARY: Beaver Dam Argus, Thursday, January 6, 1916, page 5.

DIED - BEERS - At the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Roedl, 207 High street, this city, Saturday morning, January 1, 1916, Mrs. Mary Ann Beers, age 85 years, 11 months and 18 days.

Mrs. Mary Ann Beers was the widow of the late George Beers and had been a resident of this city since 1855. She had been in ill health for the past six months, but had been confined to her bed but six weeks, death being due to the infirmities incident to advance age. Since the death of her husband on April 31, 1899 [sic], Mrs. Beers has made her home alternately with her son George and her daughter, Mrs. Roedl in this city and was tenderly cared for by them in her declining years.

Mary Anna Krissinger was born in Baden-Baden, Germany, January 14, 1830, and came to this country when a young lady, settling at Pittsburg, Penna., where she was united in marriage to Mr. George Beers on September 24, 1854. The following year she came to Beaver Dam with her husband and has lived here continuously since that time.

Of the nine children born to them, five have preceded the parents in death, and the following remain to mourn the loss of a kind and devoted mother: George Beers and Mrs. John Roedl of this city, Joseph Beers, of Cumberland, Wis., and Mrs. Frank Hammer of Chicago. There are also 24 grand children and one great grand child surviving.

The funeral was held at St. Peter's church at nine o'clock Tuesday morning with interment in St. Peter's cemetery.
