From obituary: Jack S. Beemer of St. Joseph died unexpectedly Monday, Jan 4, 1993 at his home. Born in Gravity IA, Mr. Beemer had lived in Lee's Summit MO prior to returning to St. Joseph. On the day of his death, he marked his 33rd year of employment with Kansas City Life Insurance Company where he was a regional director of sales. Mr. Beemer was a member of the Methodist faith; Charity Lodge No 331 A.F. & A.M.; Moila Temple Shrine and Pony Express American Legion Post No. 359. He was a past member of the Shrine Cyclists Unit for over 10 years, a Chief Aide to the potentate of the shrine in 1979 and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He received a bachelor of science degree in secondary eduation from Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville. During the Korean War Mr. Beemer served with the Navy. In 1986 he married the former Lois F. Rowden Cook and she survives of the home. Also surviving are one son and two daughters; his parents, Horace and Agatha (Farrens) Beemer of Bedford IA; one brother, three sisters, and four grandchildren.
