Amanda Bell (Beem) Allen was the daughter of Lemuel Lycurtis Beem and Laura Elizabeth Rose. She married Millard Andrew Allen on 25 December 1926 in Madison County, Iowa.

MRS. M. A. ALLEN DIES AT RED OAK

Death Occurs at Hospital There After Brief Illness

Mrs. M. A. Allen, a resident of Winterset most of her life, died Friday, Oct. 30 at the Murphy Memorial hospital in Red Oak, after a brief illness. She was 51 years of age.

Mrs. Allen was the former Amanda B. Beem, daughter of Lemuel and Laura Beem. She was born in Madison county Sept. 16, 1902. She attended the Winterset schools and was graduated from the Winterset high school.

With the exception of the last two years, living at Red Oak, her life was spent in Winterset. She was a member of the Winterset Church of Christ and the Rebecca and Royal Neighbor lodges here.

She was married Dec. 25, 1926, to M. A. Allen of Winterset who survives her. She also leaves a daughter, Mary Ann Allen; a brother, Clarence Beem of Winterset; and two sisters, Mrs. Lula Estell and Susie Beem, both of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Winterset Church of Christ, conducted by the pastor the Rev. Warren Hile. Burial was made in the McDonald Cemetery.
