Probably born by about 1605, based on estimated date of marriage. Mariner who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1630 & settled in Charlestown. Died in Charlestown between 17 February 1636/7 (chosen selectman) and 2 March 1636/7 ("Mr. Tho: Beecher deceased" replaced as selectman).
Married by 1630 Christian (Barker) Cooper, widow of Thomas Cooper & daughter of James Barker of Harwich, Essex. She was admitted to Boston church as member #17 (which would be in late August or early September 1630), dismissed to the new church at Charlestown 14 October 1632 and admitted to Charlestown church 2 November 1632. She married (3) as his second wife NICHOLAS EASTON [1634, Ipswich] of Newbury and Newport. (In his will of 2 September 1624 "Thomas Co[o]per of Whappinge in the County of Midd[lesex] mariner" bequeathed "unto my loving wife Christian Cooper all that my freehold messuage or tenement and the yard with other the appurtenances thereunto belonging now in the tenure or occupation of my brother William Coper [sic] which I purchased and bought situate and being in Harwich in the County of Essex." On 12 September 1663 Nicholas Easton and Christian Easton "for good causes moving us thereunto" deeded to "our nephew James Barker of Nuport" the arrearages in rents, profits, etc., on the land in Harwich in Essex in England which had been bequeathed to her in the will of her husband "Thomas Copper of Wapping ... mariner" and which the said Christian had held "during her widowhood as also in the life & time of her next husband Th: Beecher mariner as above & the time of her present marriage with Nicholas Easton her husband.")
