U.S. Veteran Donald Raymond Bedwell born 16 June 1925 in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw,
Michigan and died 27 July 2014 in Mio, Oscoda, Michigan. He went to high school at Dearborn High, after he graduated he went into the service at the start of World War 2, USMC. He had A.I.T. at Fort. Pendelton in California. He was sent to the pacific island of Guam as a mechanic for aircraft repair and maintenance becoming a sergeant by the end of the war. Returning from the war he was hired by Kaiser-Frazer and was a foreman at the Willow Run plant until it closed about 1954. He then bought a Pure gas/service station and operated it as owner/mechanic until about 1957, when he then bought and operated a party store until about 1959, he then returned to the gas station business and became the owner/operator/mechanic of a Sunoco service station which he had until about 1970. Don and his family moved from Dearborn to Fenton Michigan. Don then went to work for Boron Oil Company in a maintenance capacity, maintaining all the Boron stations in Michigan and northern Ohio until his retirement. After his retirement Don and Evelyn moved from Fenton to Mio, Michigan. Don was a mason, and auxiliary police officer for the city of Dearborn.
Don is preceded in death by his parents Earl Wesley Bedwell and Louise Clara Marx Bedwell, His wife, Evelyn Irene Bedwell, two brothers, Wesley Bedwell and Rodney David Bedwell, stepson Danny Lee Lowe Bedwell, and son Gary David Bedwell.
In accordance with Donald's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
