He was the son of Samuel and Rhoda (Moore) Beddingfield and married Minnie Lou Colston - 09 Dec 1906 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. After her death, he married Lola Rogers - 04 Jul 1938 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows:

A funeral for James Thomas Beddingfield, 79, retired contractor of Lincoln County, was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home. I. C. Pullias and Weldon Tarpley officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Beddingfield died Friday in Lincoln County Hospital after a short illness.

He was a native of Lincoln County. His first wife, the former Minnie Colston, died in 1935. He later married the former Lola Rogers, who survives. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife: three sisters, Mrs. Lettie May Hughes, Bethel, Tennessee, Mrs. Ellen Storey, Madill, Oklahoma, and Mrs. W. J. Hobbs of Lincoln County; two brothers, Elmo Beddingfield and the Rev. Tully E. Beddingfield, both of Lincoln County.
