Birth date on the marker is incorrect. According to Henderson county Death records the actual date is Feb. 17, 1942.
The correct name is Caroline Manerva Beddingfield.
Caroline's father (Charles B. Beddingfield) served in the 64nd NC Reg. CSA in the Civil war. He was captured at Cumberland Gap and imprisoned in Camp Douglas, Illinois where he died.
She was raised by her father's sister Mahala Dasahala Beddingfield and her husband James A, Hart.

Another researcher say Caroline was raised by Julia Ward Beddingfield and husband David Levi Beddingfield until she married David Riley Bayne.
