PORTSMOUTH - Alexander R. Becker, 39 of [] died Sept. 9, 1999, in a local hospital. Mr. Becker was a native of Portsmouth and was the son of the late Milton J. Becker of blessed memory.

He was employed as a catering manager for Brutti's East Inc.

He was a 1978 graduate of Wilson High School.

Survivors include a son, Miles J. Becker of Portsmouth; his mother, Ruth Becker Levinson, and his stepfather, Seymour Levinson of Norfolk; two sisters, Arlene Sidman and her husband, Stanley, of Rockville, MD., and Ellyn B. Elferssey of Alexandria, VA.; three stepbrothers, Michael Levinson and his wife, Pam, Mark Levinson and his wife, Ann, and Jed Levinson and his wife, Laurie; two stepsisters, Rhea Blanken and her husband Bob, and Sara Hairston and her husband, Charles; aunts and uncles, Edmund and Marcia Goldsticker and Henry and Irene Ullman; nephews and nieces;Howard and Michelle Sidman and Avi and Mindy Elfersey.

A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. today at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, by Rabbi Michael Panitz. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Israel or the charity of the donor's choice.
