She was married August 16, 1901 to Robert Burns Demar, who is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. In the 1910 Census she was residing with her first husband and their son, Robert. In 1920, the Census lists her as living with her son, her sister Gertrude Sanford, her sister Elsie Mohler and her husband and 2 children. She married her
second husband, Frederick E. Wheeler in 1924.

Marie was dressmaker/milliner who resided and worked at 812 I St., Washington, D.C. She also played the violin.
