Known as "little Jeannie," she was lovingly cared for by the caregivers on Birch Street, whom she loved very much.
Jean was born in Meadville on June 4, 1919, a daughter of Eugene and Ruth Hill Beck. She was a graduate of Meadville High School, class of 1937.
Jean was married to the late Lawrence H. (Oscar) Albaugh on Aug. 29, 1940. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2007.
Jean was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Conneaut Lake, where she enjoyed the teachings and music. She and her husband worked at the church as custodians, taking great pride in keeping the church looking beautiful. Jean was an avid reader and created wonderful friendship and get-well books for her friends.
While living at Conneaut Lake, she assisted Oscar in his barber shop, answering the phone and making appointments.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews in addition to Darwin and Roberta Alexander, her caregivers, who adopted her as part of their family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy; and her daughter, Tracy.
Per Jean's request, there will be no calling hours.
Family and friends may attend a memorial service at Trinity United Methodist Church, Conneaut Lake, at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Pastors Jay Sterling and David Brumagin will officiate.
Jean's final resting place will be at St. Agatha's Cemetery, Meadville.
