Pauline A. Beck, 97, of Carmi, passed away at Hamilton Memorial Hospital on Wednesday morning, February 8, 2017. She was born on January 18, 1920 in Carmi, the daughter of Emil and Mary (Kallenbach) Botsch. She married Homer C. Beck on August 10, 1943 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2001.

Mrs. Beck was a teacher and farmer’s wife. She was a member of White County Retired Teachers, was an Elder of First Presbyterian Church, and was active in the Cancer Society. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

She is survived by son, Larry (Carol) Beck, daughters, Carol (Mike) Huff, Debra (Jeff) Haley and Kathy (Mark) Fridley; grandchildren, Jennifer (Andy) Acord, Brandon (Nathelee) Huff, Kara (Curt) Kessler, Corey (Kelly) Ackerman, and Todd (Sarah) Haley; twelve great-grandchildren, Cooper, Callie and Quincy Acord, Remi, Greyson, and Beck Huff, Kelsi Kessler, Karen, Karson, and Kenley Kays, Drew Ackerman, Niah Haley and Baby Girl Haley due in March; sisters, Florence Beck, Marilyn Gentry and Martha (Don) Coats. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her sister-in-laws, Mary and Jean Beck.

She was preceded in death by brothers, William, Glenard, Harold, and Richard Botsch and sisters, Gladys Botsch and Velma Johnson, and great-grandson, Henry Alan Haley.
