Mrs. Long was born in Winder, Georgia, March 27, 1920, but lived all her adult life in Milledgeville. She was retired from General Telephone Company after 38 years of service and was a member of Milledgeville First Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Presbyterian Women's group.
Mrs. Long is survived by her daughter Rita Long Peavy and son-in-law The Rev. Dr. Thomas O. Peavy of Columbus, Georgia; grandson Thomas O Peavy, Jr., of Auburn, Alabama; granddaughter Erin Nicole Peavy of Milledgeville, Georgia; sister, Gladys B. Miller of Bogart, Georgia; niece Barbara S. Carnes (Ronnie) of Norcross, Georgia; two nephews Arthur C. Miller, Jr. (Myrtle) of Bogart, Georgia, and Robert M. Sessions, Jr., of Boston, Massachusetts, as well as a number of great-nieces and nephews and very dear friends.
