George H. Bechtel, 66, of 1334 E. Cumberland St., Lebanon, died of natural causes Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in Lebanon's Good Samaritan Hospital He was the husband of the late Delores J. Bechtel. Born March 17, 1934, in Lebanon, he was a son of the late Ralph and Eloise Risser Bechtel. He was employed at Cleaver-Brooks for 26 years and was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea. He was a member of the Friendship Fire Co. and the Orioles Club, both in Lebanon. Surviving are a friend, Jeanette Cantrell of Lebanon; a stepdaughter, Cheryl, wife of Art Whitman of Shamokin; brothers Thomas Bechtel of Mt. Zion, Joseph Bechtel of Cleona, William Bechtel of Bethel and Clifford Bechtel of Lebanon; sisters Margaret, wife of Russell Schneck of Mt. Zion, Judy, wife of Charles Reber of Lebanon, and Eleanor Boltz of Frystown; and several step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Ken Bechtel, Ralph Bechtel and Raymond Bechtel.
