John was the first of six children born to Emil Francis and Agnes Charlotte (Ryan) Beaver. He was a life-long resident of Kokomo, Indiana. He passed away 3 days short of his 93rd birthday on September 9th, 2011 from prostate cancer.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the North Pacific as an Electricians Mate. He married Mary Kathryn "Kate" Gunning in 1937 and they were the parents of eight children born over a twenty-year period: JoAn, Janet, Lawrence, Donald, John, Mary Ann, Victoria and Rebecca.
A foreman at General Motors' Delco Division, he headed the night shift in Plant 9. Johnny loved to tell stories; he loved to fish; and he loved to tell fish stories!
Widowed in 1991, he remarried to Mrs. June Riche in 1996. He had known her and her late husband for over 40 years. June survives; as well as Don, Mary Ann and Vicki, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He is buried next to Kate at Crown Point Cemetery in Kokomo.
You know what? I miss hearing those wonderful stories!
