Alma Geneva (Skinner) Beasley, 100, of the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville, OH, died Monday, July 26, 2010. She was born April 15, 1910 in Monroe Township, Preble County, OH, the daughter of Clement & Anna (Lee) Miller. She attended Monroe (West Manchester, OH) grade & high school. In 1930 she married Hildreth Skinner (deceased 1961) and they had 2 sons, Lee Nile Skinner & Garry Skinner.

Geneva was very active in the Eldorado United Methodist Church for many years, serving as Sunday School Superintendent. She was the former United Telephone Company chief operator starting in Eldorado in 1950. Upon the closing of the Eldorado office, due to dial phones, she transferred to the Eaton commercial office, then to Arcanum, and finally on to Greenville to become the commercial office manager until her retirement in 1975. After her marriage in 1962 to Ivan Beasley (deceased 1986), the couple traveled throughout the country, moving to Florida in 1977. Geneva taught crafts at their mobile home park for 15 years, and they were members of several camping clubs, enjoying their travel trailer immensely. After returning from Florida at age 95, she resided at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. She celebrated her 100th birthday on April 15, 2010 with an open house where she enjoyed visiting with family & friends, as well as some of her telephone "girls" who came to reminisce with her.
