Charles E. (Stump) Beamer, age 85, formerly of Aspers, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at Golden Living in Gettysburg. Charles was born September 2, 1924 in Menallen Twp., Adams Cty., a son of the late Wilbert H. Beamer and the late Mary E. (Kuhn) McCauslin.
Charles was employed by PPG Industries for 14 years before his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Shoshonean Gun Club, Upper Adams Fish & Game, Buchanan Valley Gun Club, Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 Biglerville, a Life Member of North American Hunting Club, and a Life Member of Bendersville Fire Co. He served in the Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Beamer, who died in1999. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Black, Beulah Kime and Mazie Beamer; two brothers, Guy Beamer and Donald Beamer; two half-brothers, James and William McCauslin; and two half-sisters, Doretta McCauslin and Tressie Rhoads.
He is survived by his wife Betty (Blocher) Bream-Beamer; one sister, Marvel Drybread of Biglerville; and one brother, Paul Beamer of Biglerville.
Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery
