1925 - 2010
Marilyn Beal, 84, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 31, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was a faithful member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church.
Marilyn was born May 16, 1925 in Oakland, Iowa and was raised in Broadwater, Nebraska.
She proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy. In addition to being a devoted mother to her five daughters, Marilyn worked at J.C. Penny, the Navy Exchange and the Escambia County School District, where she retired after 17 years.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Paul W. Beal; her parents, Hugh and Era Watson; one brother, Charles Watson and two sisters, Daurine Baker and Elora Norris.
She is survived by her five daughters, Louise Kendrick of Pensacola; Kathy Lewallyn (Dennis) of Pensacola; Phyllis Saxon (Mike) of Eufaula, AL; Joan Alberto (Don) of Fredericksburg, VA; Janet Cagle (Jeff) of Pensacola; eight grandchildren, David Lewallyn (Katie); Bryan Lewallyn (fiancé, Emily Agricola); Heather Saxon (fiancé, Ben Woodard); Hillary Saxon; Emily Alberto; John Alberto; Melanie Cagle; Will Cagle; two brothers, Bob Watson and Lyndall Watson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday February 4th at 10:30 AM at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 with the Rev. Ron Lentine and Dr. Alton Butler presiding. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery aboard N.A.S. Pensacola.
Active pallbearers will be Dennis Lewallyn, Mike Saxon, Jeff Cagle, Don Alberto, David Lewallyn, Bryan Lewallyn, John Alberto and Will Cagle.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Life Care Center for the love and care they gave our mother the last year and a half. And the staff at Covenant Hospice for their love and care they gave her during the last days of her life. A special thanks to Katina Decker and Mark Stimmell for their special friendship.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Diabetes Association , Myrtle Grove Baptist Church or Covenant Hospice.
