PALMYRA - Loretta M. Herren, 86, of Palmyra and formerly of West Ely, died at 6:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. The Rev. Kenneth Schamber will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the funeral chapel.
Mrs. Herren was born Nov. 29, 1916, in Belltown to Edward and Mary Elizabeth Van Marter Beadle.
She was married to Victor E. Herren on Oct. 17, 1937, in West Ely. He preceded her in death June 4, 1994.
Survivors include four sisters-in-law, Elma Lehenbauer of Hannibal, Lillian Wieters of Decatur, Ill., Norma Gronewold of Golden, Ill.; and Linette Masters of Detroit, Mich.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Everett Herren; her stepfather, Hassen Amen; one brother, Harry Beadle; and one sister, Jessie Beadle.
Mrs. Herren farmed with her husband and son in the West Ely area for many years. She and her husband retired to Palmyra in 1990. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Ely. She was also a member of the Ladies Aide Society.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Pallbearers will be Terry Lehenbauer, Greg Frese, Scott Sapp, Dick Disselhorst, Steve Disselhorst and Larry Baker.
