Allan Wayne Beach, 71, of Butlerville, Indiana, passed away at 1:04 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Mr. Beach was born on December 29, 1940, the son of Harry and Della Mercer Beach. He married Jewell Green on April 24, 1976 at the Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing, Indiana. She survives.
Allan was the owner of Beach Lumber Company in Ripley County, Indiana from 1984 to present day. He was also the recipient of several awards, including the Tom Wallace Farm Forestry Award in 1981; the outstanding Woodland Owner of Jennings County in 1981; and Logger of the Year for the state of Indiana. He enjoyed Sprint Cars, playing the banjo, being outdoors, and especially loved music.
Including his wife, Jewell, Mr. Beach is survived by 2 sons – Andy (Shanda) Beach of Butlerville, IN and Tony Beach of Columbus, IN; 1 step daughter – Tammy Killey of Scottsburg, IN; 1 step son – Timmy (Sue) Carter of Brownstown, IN; 1 granddaughter – Amber Beach of North Vernon, IN; 5 step grandchildren – Corey Killey of Seymour, IN, Courtney Killey and Shane, Shawn, and Seth Carter all of Scottsburg, IN; 1 brother – Marlyn Beach of Nebraska, IN; 2 sisters – Joanna McNulty of Nebraska, IN and Cheryl Shepherd of North Vernon, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Funeral for Allan Beach will be on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Dove – Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The Visitation will be on the same day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Otter Creek Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the family of Mr. Beach.
