Charles E. Beach, Sr. Succumbs In Atlanta
Charles Edwin Beach, Sr. formerly of Columbus, but a resident of Atlanta for the past 34 years, died yesterday at his residence, 1052 Washila Avenue, Atlanta.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. G. T. Wilby and Mrs. H. E. Graham; a son, C. E. Beach, Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. C. E. Mallett, Etowah, N.C. and Mrs. Wilford Conrow, New York City; a brother, W. B. Beach, Etowah; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Beach, a retired auditor, was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
The body was removed to H. M. Patterson and Sons mortuary, in Atlanta, but will be brought to Columbus for interment, which will be held sometime Sunday .
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

FORMER LOCAL BANKER DIES
C. E. Beach, Member Of Prominent Columbus Family Passes in Atlanta
Atlanta, Jan. 20---(AP) C. Edwin Beach, former Columbus, Ga., Banker, died at his home here Friday night. He was a native of Columbus, where he was widely known in banking and business fields. After coming to Atlanta, he conducted an auditing business until his retirement.
His widow, two daughters, and a son survive.
Funeral services were arranged for 12:30 p.m. tomorrow at Spring Hill mortuary parlor. The Rev. E. C. Few will officiate. Immediately after the service here the body will be taken to Columbus for burial.
FUNERAL HERE
News of the death of C. F. Beach, former Columbus citizen and member of one of the city's most prominent families, will be noted with sincere regret by the many friends of the deceased especially among the older people of the city, where he was best known.
Mr. Beach was the son of the late William Beach, founder of the Beach Hardware Co., one of the oldest business enterprises of Columbus. His brother, Will B. Beach, who operated the business after the passing of the founder, is a resident of North Carolina. The business is now owned by the Lewis family.
Mr. Beach was cashier of the Third National Bank when the late G. Gunby Jordan was president of the institution back before the name of the bank was changed to the Columbus Bank and Trust Company. He was identified with other business interests here.
Following funeral services in Atlanta Sunday, the body will be brought to Columbus where interment will be in Linwood cemetery at 4:30 o'clock in the afternoon. per: Lois Goodin Hottinger
