Syamanthia Baze, 68, of Alvarado, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009, in a Fort Worth hospital.

Syamanthia Lou Baze was born July 23, 1940, in Jackson County, Ark., the daughter of Earnest P. and Hester (McGinnis) Combs. She has been a resident of Alvarado since 1968. She served with her husband as pastor of Full Gospel Tabernacle and was its first lady but more importantly she was a great homemaker and was an "outstanding" mom, grandma and great-grandma. She loved to travel especially to England and parts of Europe.

She was preceded in death by parents, Pate and Hester Combs; daughter, Lisa Reynolds, grandson, Levi Watson, three brothers, O.T. McGinnis, Orvil McGinnis and Thomas Jones; and two sisters, Dorothy Webber, and Ann Combs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Alvarado with The Rev. Wayne Morrow, Bishop R.C. Helms, District Presbyter Donald Harvey and District Secretary-Treasurer David Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation to be held at Clayton-Kay-Vaughan on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Justin Baze, Joey Franklin, Patrick Hughes, Jason Siratt, Richard Siratt, Geoffrey Baze Jr., Charlie Franklin, Caleb Watson.Memorials may be made to Full Gospel Tabernacle, P.O. Box 903, Alvarado, TX 76009.
