David Newton Bayless, 82, of Eagle, Idaho passed away at home on Sept. 17, 2007 after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Dave was born in Cassville, Mo. to Ina Sapp Bayless and Homer Bayless. He lived in Cassville until age 11 at which time he moved with his family to Twin Falls, Idaho; finishing High School, then joining the Navy. He was in the Navy for three years, serving in W.W. II in the Pacific as a radioman. He met his wife, Eunice Priebe, in Los Angeles in 1943 and they were married in Jan. of 1945. Dave got a degree in electronics at Pasadena Jr. College in 1948. He worked in electronics for 23 years, with the last 13 of those being with the State Police division of communications; the last position as Assistant Administrator for that division. Under his "direction a new state wide 450 mobile repeater communications system for the Idaho State Police and City and County Law Enforcement agencies was designed, purchased, and installed." In 1971 due to administration changes he left the state position devoting full time to cattle trading and farming until 2002. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and loved socializing with friends. He took up commodity/stock trading with a good friend, Dave Riebe, and continued learning and sharing this information with his children and grandchildren until his death. He is survived by Eunice, his wife of 62 years; daughter, Cheryl (Richard) Nyquist of Denair, Calif.; daughter, Marcia (Bob) Bagley of Marysville, Calif.; son, Gordon (Debbie) Bayless of Boise, Idaho; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and all five of his siblings. Our husband, dad will be dearly remembered and greatly missed.
