Canton – Agnes L. “Peggy” Baxter, 97, of Canton, passed away at 1:20 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born August 4, 1917 in Gilchrist, to Jackov “Jack” and Mary C. (Polich) Tomlianovich. She married Robert D. Baxter on September 12, 1945 in Canton. He preceded her in death in 1995. Also preceding her in death are her parents, three brothers, and five sisters.
She is survived by one nephew, Richard Matkovich of Chillicothe.
Agnes retired from International Harvester Co. in October of 1974, where she worked as a core maker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton, where visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Food Pantry or St. Mary’s Altar & Rosary Society.
