Bernadette was the daughter of John Frank Baumann and Maria Amalia "Mary" Roth. She was a crew leader at Owens Illinois Incorporated in Alton, Madison County, Illinois. She retired on 08 Apr 1983. She also worked at the shoe factory in Jerseyville, Jersey County, Illinois.
Following a long illness, Bernadette died at Jersey Community Hospital 13 days after her 66th birthday. She was survived by 3 sisters, Rose Rawe of Jerseyville, Sister Mary Gabriel of Springfield, Illinois, and Marie Smith of Hardin; 3 nieces; and 1 nephew.
In addition to her parents, Bernadette was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carl and John Baumann; and 1 sister, Edna Baumann.
No visitation was held, but a funeral Mass was conducted at 10 a.m. on 25 Sep 1989 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville.
Bernadette was buried next to her uncle, Henry Roth, near the foot of her parents' graves.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the church, where she was a member.
