Son of Max W. and Alice May (DeAtley) Bauer. Clarence had his name legally changed to Clay. He married Vera Jones in 1953. They one son; Robin. Divorced, Clay married Barbara Denton about 1972. They had one daughter; Kimberly who was born in 1974. Barbara and Kimberly were killed in an auto accident in 1978. Clay never remarried. Son Robin died in 1999.
