Mrs. Elizabeth L. Batten, age 87, died early Sunday morning at the Colonial Nursing Home, Colby.

Funeral services were held at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Monday evening. The body was taken to the Holly Funeral Home, Waupaca, for services held Wednesday, with the Rev. Henry Behrenberg, officiating. Burial was in the Crystal Lake Cemetery, Waupaca.

Mrs. Batten was born April 14, 1884 in the Town of Springwater, Waushara County, Wisconsin. On July 12, 1906 she was married to Wesley Batten, who preceded her in death in 1960. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Dorchester.

Five sons, Kenneth of Neenah, Cecil of Royalton, Lynn of Abbotsford, Keith of Almond and Walter of Royalton; two daughters, Mrs. Donald Robertson of Appleton, and Mrs. Boyd Carroll of Milwaukee; three brothers; fourteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren survive.
