Joseph W. Bates – A memorial service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in Bethel Congregational Church, Beaverton, for Joseph Bates, Aloha, who died Thursday in a Portland hospital.
A lifetime Washington County, resident, Mr. Bates was born in Gaston, October 9, 1912. He was an auto mechanic for the Beaverton School District at his death and had run his own business in Hillsboro before joining the district in 1961.
Surviving are his wife Gertrude; son Kenneth, Aloha; and sister, Mrs. Ralph Jack, Silverton.
Private interment will be in Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove.
