The Vietnam war has claimed the life of another area soldier.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert G. Bast, Sr., of Miltona, were notified this week of the death of their son, Specialist 4 Albert Bast, Jr., who was killed while on a combat mission.
The 20 year old GI entered the Army last February and had been in Vietnam since August 1. He died December 12.
Funeral services for Specialist Bast are pending.

The Defense Department announced the death of Army Spec. 4 Albert F. Bast Jr., of Miltona, Minnesota, in Vietnam action.
Bast is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bast Sr., of Miltona. The 20 year old Bast was a 1966 graduate of Jefferson Senior high school in Alexandria. He entered the service last February and had been serving in Vietnam since July 28, 1969, as a medic. Bast was killed December 12, 1969, while on a combat operation when hostile forces were encountered. He is survived by his folks and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral arrangements were pending with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
