FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. O. H. BASS

Services were held in the Lawrence County Funeral Home in Monticello Monday afternoon at three o'clock for Mrs. Oliver H. Bass, 68, of Atlanta, Ga., who died at seven-fifteen Saturday morning in an Atlanta hospital after an illness of some years. She entered the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Rev. John G. McDonald, pastor of the Monticello Baptist church where Mrs. Bass was a member and Rev. R. E. Anding, pastor of the Monticello Methodist church had part in the services.

Special music was by a quartet composed of W. H. Neson, W. M. Neal, Jere Thames and W. J. Nelson. Pall bearers were Johnny McGuffee, Billy Smith, Jones Walker, S. F. Magee, Warren Hall, M. P. Simmons, Kenneth Rogers, all of Monticello and Billy Newton Wright of New Orleans, La. Burial was in the Bass family plot of the City Cemetery with the Lawrence County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Before her marriage some years ago, Mrs. Bass was Miss Addie Clark of Monticello. She and her husband lived in Monticello for some time. Mr. Bass has for some years been employed by the Georgia State Highway department as a member of the designing department.

Mrs. Bass leaves her husband, Oliver H. Bass of Atlanta, Ga., one sister, Mrs. B. W. Phillips of Braxton; one brother, A. J. Clark of Woodville and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a sister-in-law of W. E. Driver and Mrs. J. Z. McGuffee. Beautiful floral tributes expressed the sympathy of friends.
