Mrs. Helen J. Bass (Maw-Maw), 75, of Northside Drive, Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010. She was born May 21, 1934, in Carrollton, Georgia, the daughter of the late Leonard Morrow and Lou Muse Morrow.
Mrs. Bass was a retired seamstress having worked for Chalk Line for 25 years and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Ulus A. Bass (Snake); brother, Milford Morrow and grandson, Daniel Akers.
Survivors include her children, Mike and Barbara Akers of Carrollton, Sharon and Rick Mitchell of Bremen and Mark and Sheila Bass of Carrollton; sisters and brother-in-law, Leola and Hamp Harris of Villa Rica, Sara Kocsis of Bremen, Mary Nell Folds and Dot Medlock, both of Carrollton; grandchildren, Jamie Lynch, Jason Akers, Shane Akers, Toni Meixner, Kayley Bass, Tyler Richie and Brian Reyher; also nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 28, 2010, at 1 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Greg Drake officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Bass, Shane Meixner, Shane Lynch, Joey Fernanders, Tracey Morrow, Triston Lynch, Shane Akers and Jason Akers. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
