(Luke) Paul Barton was born in Worcester, the son of Luke and Wilhelmina (Volker) Barton. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He had been employed by Bay State Abrasives for twenty years, most recently in the laboratory. He and his family lived across the street from Pine Grove Cemetery in Westborough for many years before and after his death.

Mr. Barton was one of six siblings. They included June (born in 1916 and died in 1960), Ella Mae (born in 1921 and died in 1927), buried with her Barton grandparents, Mary E (born in 1924, who survived him), and twins Peter and Theodor, born in 1932 and lived one day.

When he died, Paul left his widow, Mrs. Helen (Goggin) Barton, whom he married in 1945; seven sons, First Lt. Francis P Barton, William Barton, Lawrence, Terrence, Daniel, Edward, and Michael Barton: three daughters, Eileen, Constance and Nancy Barton. Paul's funeral was from St. Luke's Church in Westborough.
