Burial was in Brown Cemetery in Atlanta, La., under the direction of Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield.
The Rev. Barton died Thursday, May 8, 1980 in Winnfield General Hospital after a long illness.
He was a member and pastor of Zion Hill Baptist Church, served as minister for 30 years in Winn Parish churches, was a retired school bus driver, and was a member of Eastern Star Masonic Lodge No. 151, Winnfield.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Barton of Winnfield; a son, Billy Barton of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Beth Collier of Winnfield and Mrs. Martha Wagner of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Hughes, Mrs. Ophelia Simmons, and Mrs. Johnnie Ray, all of Shreveport, and Mrs. Ella Mae Russ of Winnfield; and five grandchildren.
