Earl Russell Bartley
Cave City - Earl Russell Bartley, 78, of Cave City died Saturday morning, July 20, 2002, at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Clemma Baldock Bartley. Mr. Bartley was a member of the Cave City Baptist Church. He was a carpenter, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Mid-KY Antique Car Club.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Underwood Bartley; one daughter, Linda Gail Spurlock and husband Gary of Bowling Green; one son, Michael "Cotton" Bartley and wife Phyllis of Louisville; four grandchildren, Ty Jewell and wife Sabrina, Nathan Bartley, Bryan Lindsey and Jim Mayer; seven brothers, Edwin Leroy Bartley and Lawrence Bartley of Glasgow, Arnold Bartley of Califonia, Lance Bartley of Lexington, Larry and Richard Bartley of Nashville and Gary Bartley of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Ruth Botts; a brother, Wayne Bartley; and two grandsons, Kevin Michael Bartley and Michael Baum.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 22, 2002 at the Cave City Baptist Church with burial in the Union #2 Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home.
