Mrs. Wilmar Bartels Rites Held Saturday
Glencoe was the scene of one of the largest funerals ever held in the community last Saturday afternoon when rites were held at the First Evg. Lutheran church for Mrs. Wilmar Bartels, young wife and mother, who passed away at her New Auburn home last Wednesday.
Rev. Steufert of Gaylord conducted the rites which included services at the Bartels homes at New Auburn at 12:30 o'clock followed by services in Glencoe church at 2:00 o'clock. Interment was made in the Kottke family lot in the church cemetery.
Acting as flower girls were Leona and Ione Pischke, Evelyn Bartels and Delma Alsleben. The pallbearers were Lawrence Blake, Lawrence Pischke, Elmer Pischke, Arnold Arlt, Louis Ranzau and Leonard Schuett.
A large number from Brownton, Penn Town., Gaylord, New Auburn and Glencoe were present to pay their last respects to the deceased. Among the out-of-town attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Abel Johnson of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kittleson and Mrs. Gust Arnold of Excelsior, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dahlke, Mr. and Mrs. John Pischke, Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Pischke, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Pischke, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pischke and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mueling, all of Arlington.
