Adolph C. Bartels was born in Ottertail, MN to Henry Bartels and Sophie Borman Bartels.

He was the 13th of 16 children.

Adolph farmed with his father and brother until 1948 when he bought a farm in Chanhassen. He drove school bus and worked the farm.

Adolph joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minnetonka where he was treasurer and head usher.

He married Elsie Posley on July 26, 1969. Adolph and Elsie were longtime members of Bethlehem and Fairview Lutheran Churches.

He loved to fish, hunt, work the land and drive the bus! He loved the fishing opener.

Adolph was a great storyteller.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. He was survived by his wife, a son and daughter and their spouses, three sisters, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
